A collaboration between Eirinn Hayhow × Dream Safari

The Garden of England Top is a meeting place between two artistic practices, botanical and imagined, earthly and otherworldly. Created collaboratively by Eirinn Hayhow × Dream Safari, each garment is made entirely by hand and exists as a wearable artwork rather than a reproduced design.

Made from salvaged organic cotton, every top begins as a blank long sleeve before undergoing a slow, layered process of natural dyeing, painting and drawing. Coloured using handmade oak gall ink and botanical pigments, each garment is dyed three separate times to build rich, shifting tones that can never be exactly repeated. The colours emerge gradually, carrying something of the landscapes from which they came.

Each garment is built through hand-made patchwork, with individually dyed and hand-painted fabric pieces carefully stitched onto the surface. Hand-painted stars, handwritten fragments and quiet illustrations inspired by flowers, mirrors and the universe drift across the composition, while pressed foraged flowers leave delicate traces within the cloth, allowing the changing seasons to become part of each piece.

At the heart of every top is an original Dream Safari screen print, created from one of Sam’s current illustrations exploring copper boards, sound art and electronic experimentation. The diagrammatic artwork sits somewhere between a technical drawing and a mystical map, reflecting his ongoing practice of combining circuitry, sound and speculative worlds. Printed using reclaimed silver screen-printing ink donated by a local supplier, it forms a quiet conversation with the botanical elements that surround it.

The Garden of England Top is available in two colourways: Fallen Petal, a gentle blush of faded blossom and warm earth, and Blackthorn Twilight, an earthy mauve shaped by bark, shadow and dusk. Owing to the natural dyeing process, every garment carries its own unique variations in colour, markings and botanical impressions. No two pieces will ever be identical.

Each top is made to order by Eirinn Hayhow and is available in all sizes. As every garment is individually dyed, painted, patchworked, printed and finished entirely by hand using seasonal natural materials, please allow three to four weeks for your piece to be completed and dispatched.

Made slowly, in small numbers, each Garden of England Top carries the marks of its making, a record of foraged colour, careful hands and shared imagination.

    Care

Wash gently by hand or on a 30°C delicate cycle using a mild natural or organic detergent. Wash with similar colours and avoid bleach or harsh stain removers. Air drying is recommended to help preserve the natural dyes, artwork and patchwork. Like the landscapes that inspired it, the garment will continue to soften, age and develop character over time.
